The Palmer-Roberts American Legion Family 214 entertained 47 veterans from the Veterans Resource Center-Cleveland and the Domiciliary at Wade Park on Saturday, June 30 in a pre-Fourth of July picnic. The veterans arrived at the Willoughby Post for an afternoon of fun as temperatures soared into the ninety degree range.

This is third annual picnic for the veterans and the third time the post went all out to entertain them.

The veterans enjoyed grilled Italian sausage sandwiches with picnic trimmings that ended with an Ice Cream Sundae Bar. Some of the veterans worked off the extra calories with energetic games of corn hole with Legion members, played cards, dominoes or just relaxed and watched television. The veterans socialized all afternoon.
